Since 2017, the Department for Modern and Contemporary History at LMU Munich and the Center for Holocaust Studies at the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History co-host the colloquium »The Holocaust and its Context«. In this special session, recorded on 14 January 2019, Frank Bajohr and Kim Wünschmann discuss Holocaust research, memory and politics in Eastern Europe with Natalia Aleksiun (Touro College, New York), Ekaterina Makhotina (University of Bonn), Andrea Pető (CEU Budapest) and Svetlana Suveica (University of Regensburg). The panel focusses on developments in Moldova and Romania, Lithuania, Poland and Hungary.
