2004 is credited as a turning point in the recent history of Romania in regards to its attitude towards the Holocaust. The Final Report on the Holocaust in Romania, published in 2004 by an international commission of experts chaired by Elie Wiesel, was officially recognised by the Romanian state. Adrian Cioflâncă (The National Council for the Study of the Securitatea Archives / The Center for the Study of Jewish History, Bucharest) talks with Andrea Pető about the memorialisation of the Holocaust in Romania in the last 15 years.
