Submission Guidelines
Before uploading a podcast to the CEU Podcast Library, please make sure your episode meets the following requirements.
Copyright and permissions
You are responsible for having the necessary rights and permissions for everything included in your podcast.
You may not upload copyrighted music, sound recordings, audio clips, or other third-party material unless you have permission or a licence that allows you to use and publicly distribute it.
Third-party music may not be used as intro or outro music, background music, transitions, or in any other part of a podcast unless you have the necessary rights, licence or permission for such use and public distribution.
Simply crediting the artist, purchasing the music, or having a streaming subscription does not give you the right to use it in a podcast.
The same requirement applies to other third-party material, including recordings, film or television clips, readings, sound effects, and images used in podcast artwork.
CEU’s review or publication of a podcast does not constitute confirmation that all necessary rights and permissions have been obtained. Responsibility for obtaining and documenting the necessary rights and permissions remains with the person submitting the podcast.
CEU may request this documentation and may remove content for which appropriate rights cannot be established.
Guests and participants
Make sure that guests and other participants know that the conversation is being recorded and will be publicly distributed. Obtain appropriate consent before publication.
Do not include confidential or sensitive information that should not be made public.
Content and quality
CEU podcasts should meet normal academic and professional standards. Please:
- Check names, affiliations, quotations, and factual claims.
- Attribute sources and ideas appropriately.
- Use clear, good-quality audio.
- Provide an accurate episode title and description.
- Identify hosts, guests, and speakers.
- Provide relevant references or links where appropriate.
- Provide a transcript whenever possible.
CEU may request changes or additional information before publishing an episode.
